Default Downloaded mission and can't "find" it

Hey everyone,

I went to Subguru's site and downloaded Richard Manning's "Vladviostok" mission.

When I downloaded the file and attempted to install it in my DW-scenarios folder I got a message saying "file already exists", but when I start DW and access the missions screen it doesn't show up.

Is there a certain place that downloaded missions are supposed to go?

Thanks for answering a stupid question.

The missions and any associated files are 'zipped'. They should be unzipped into the DW Scenarios folder.

sorry, I guess I should have clarified.

Bill, I did unzip the mission, and installed it to the SCENARIOS folder.

Isn't the 2nd mission in the Russian Rebellion campaign also called "002_Vladviostok.mc" ?

Isn't Richards misson also titled that? - hence the confusion or why I can't find it?

If it is called that, wouldn't that title then over-write the actual campaign mission in the scenarios folder?

Your confusion is understandable. *.mc files are part of a campaign. So you won't find that particular 'scenario' among the other single missions, only as part of the campaign list. If this 002_Vladivostok.mc was suppost to be a single mission by the writer (as it seemed being in the single mission list on .subguru.com; i haven't played this one yet) than it may have corrupted the Russian_Rebelion campaign (specifically mission 2) as you overwrote like you said. I hope you have a backup. Sounds like it was given an incorrect file extension, or it really was a campaign patch. The zip doesn't come with a readme to help explain this either. Let the writer come forward to set this one straight.

Thanks Pisces for explaining the differences in the naming. (.mc Vs .ms) I wasn't aware.

Hopefully someone will be in contact with the author to clarifiy things, as you stated.

Since I'm the only person who's had a problem with this.

What are the rest of you doing when you download missions?
