Default Beaufighters and Mosquitos

Hi all.
I just spent some time in the Museum in GWX and had a look at what planes that awaits me. I´m in Dec. -41 now. And I´m afraid, the planes in the title have there nose cones packed with guns and they have rockets under their wings
@Biggles, Anson's seems like toys in comparison

Have any of you great kaleuns seen any of those planes in action? And survived?

That send shivers down my spine, I´ve seen bombs pass over head but I don´t want to see that. I think I´ll trade my flak gunners for repairmens

I have not met Mosquitos (I think), but the Beaufighters are deadly.

Do they use radar, you could really use the extra time the radar receiver would give you to dive, given the speed of those planes?

I seen the Mosquito twice in game, once near the Cape, and the second time SE of Aden both times I shot them down, all you need is a very experienced Flak crew and a lot of c/38s

The wooden wonder maybe is easier to take down, but the cannon on the Tsetse should not need too many hits on a uboat to be lethal. And, you need a working flak gun, it´s broken on my current patrol thanks to SH3 Commander

Yes, you get warnings, but sometimes they just come so bloody fast you have to react with lightening speed. (Which rules AVGWarhawk out, since he is probably assembling a couch when he hears the death cries of his crew :rotfl

Those machine cannons litterally turned my VIIC into a volleyballnet once. I could barely keep the sub afloat after chasing them off with my quad.

The Mozzie with the 57mm gun was created before rockets came about. Only 60 or so were built. They give my flak crews nightmares!!!

Yes most Coastal Command planes were fitted with radar. The radar detectors that were given to u-boats were generally speaking useless as they could only pick up radar emissions in the meter wavelength. The Allies had perfected radar in the centemetric (not sure of spelling) wavelength which the u-boat radar detectors could not pick up. The Germans refused to believe that the Allies had perfected radar to this degree until later in the war. Not sure if this is modelled in the game though.
