Default Flak shields

Hello everyone,

I am in a VIIB at around the middle of 1942. Could anyone please tell me when the option to install flak shield protectors becomes available?

Thanks.

You don't install the shields separately, they come with some gun enhancements.
You might need the right boat and conning tower configuration first. You should get them in mid '43. Click the question mark in the boat upgrade screen for a precise date.

This is off topic but I have a question. I don't remember his name or the topic he posted but he had some screen shots of a boat I would like to run. Had the deck gun, what looked like the heavy AA or maybe another deck gun in the forward tower, and 2 more AA guns to the real of the tower. Is this an actual configuration or something he made himself by tweeking files? Would really like to sail around in/on that and get some screens myself, just sweet looking.

i think you're talking about the U-flak wich has 3 heavy flak cannons
and yea its been used IRL but not much
only on 3 or 4 Uboats i think

i think you can get it in 1943

I'm in late '43 and running a IXC w/ 3 flak guns. Only my quad on the rear deck has any kind of plating. The two duals in the 'nest' don't have any plates on them.. that would be nice as long as it doesn't interfere w/ my sighting.. The plates on the deck flak really limit my field of view.. Usually I let my 4 qualified flak gunners shoot (They're much better than I am), but they won't shoot at the surface targets.. That quad is devestating on Elco's

Oh, it is. Of course, I took out an Elco with a single star shell once-they're not that hard...
