Default GWX problem. Please assist.

I had no trouble playing my previous install of SH3 yesterday. Last night I downloaded GWX and did a complete fresh install.

SH3
Patch 1.4
GWX
GWX Update
SH3 Commander v 2.6
GWX Sh3comm fix

Whenever the game loads and I select to start either a single mission, career or the museum, it loads the game 95% and freezes. Stops in the same spot every time. Any ideas?

DirectX is updated to the latest version. All of my system drivers are up to date.

Did you rollback SH3Commander and delete the SH3 folder in C\MyDocuments ? :hmm:

I rolled back, deleted the folder, and un-installed everything. I'm going to try again from the beginning.

I figured out part of the problem. With the manual patch of GWX I wasn't putting the folder contents in the correct locations.

Two things:

Run MD5compare to see if all GWX files are good.

Make sure you're using the right patch.

A few things I do after uninstalling everything is to do a search on my entire computer for SH* files/folders and remove any remaining ones that might have been missed.
Then I run a registry cleaner. "CCleaner" is safe, easy and free. Then I install. After I install, I'll run the cleaner again and defrag.

If you want I'll email it to you.

Oh, and you might need to try this: Once you've clean-installed everything, run GWX first without running Sh3Commander. You don't have to actually play a patrol; just start the game and then exit it. Then you can start up by using Commander.

I've downloaded the patch DVD US Retail from two different sites and they both say v1.3b when I'm installing them even though the page says it's v1.4??

That is correct. When they finished the 1.4b patch they neglected to change the number.
