Default Anyone interested...?

To see a mod that changes all the radio messages included in GWX to a coded ones (Enigma)?

There´s no way to get the Enigma to the game itself, but there´s few online/downloadable Enigma simulators out there that´ll do the job.

The mod would be simple, all the messages that are sent from BdU to the uboats or from uboats to BdU would be coded with a Enigma simulator. The message would (of course) include the decoding info that you would input to your Enigma simulator to decode the message.

Example off a message:

[quote]

From: BdU
To: U-7

AIRJ AKHO KGNE ODNY GHIH HIOG URBD
GHGH LADS WEUI LSIF AGHI OAHB AUEG

(Decoding info would be here)

I know that a "normal" player wont be interested about this, but what about all you doing TCx1 patrols? Would give you something to do.

I would like this as well being that I play with these simulated enigma machines anyway. Just google "enigma simulator" and there are a few good ones. Just make sure it behaves like the real 4 rotor machine as some do not. I use the enigma simulater 6.1.

ALSO: We would need a code book or key to use it.

And.... we will need a key for short signals.

But still you end up alt-tabbing, everytime you wanna use the machine.

Yes, that´s right. I was thinking more for the TCx1 users who dont have to be ALT+TABing every 5 minutes.

I just use my laptop (second computer).

It even LOOKS like an enigma!

Well, lets see how this works out. The job is easy to do, but it takes time. I have to separate all the BDU->Uboat and vice versa messages and code them all with different settings with Enigma. :rotfl:

Great Idea Dowly If I remenber right I d\l an enigma machine with
with code books at UBRS. Got the tip from Avon Lady quite some time ago. I hope this helps and you get alot of support from the rest of the
Kaluens to do this mod. I know I want it.

Well, there´s another problem. I dont know, if all the enigma simulators work the same way. And you dont need code books. I´m planning on including all the information to the radio messages to make it easier.

I think this is a great idea. Although I myself am all thumbs at using an enigma machine so far-if there was a decent tutorial I'd be willing to give it another shot.

Would be interesting if the big brass at WAW got interested in this.

With a simple Enigma simulator, it´s easy to learn it.

And what comes to the WaW, it´s not a go. It would take too much time from the Flottille kommandant to decode the messages, atleast that´s what I got for an answer when I asked about it during WaW I.

Ok, here´s an example of the first coded message:

Quote:
From OKM
1939/09/01

PSDG DOKC KRNR JAGX VOWX UYPR PPCA ALHA QSAM KFPF LOTD SCXZ GFWB QXSD MASN DZFO SZPM RUPC KQWQ JOIN SHRB CGDT NQIX TJBB YZWZ FKKW O

*B, III IV I, 12 01 22, PO LN EC AK WD, OVT
*Decoding info, and of course there will be an 'How-to' when the mod is released.

Now, I wont most likely make the Enigma codes act like historical (i.e. Number of wheels depending of the year etc.) because I simply dont have the time for that. I´ll be leaving on 8th of January and will be back in summer, so I have a tight schedule.
