Default Hunting GFrounds for typ. II U-Boats

For thoes of you who have the type II U-Boat, the "Duck" Boats. If you run up and down the coast at about 30-40km off shore. But a more fule effincet method os to sit in on spot(my faveroite is off Hartelpool) 30-40km off shore. If your sitting in one spot dive during the day for sonar searches. If you like move your postion 30km a day for more area covered.

Good Luck and Good Hunting.

Its the same way I put it in the Community manual.

Iv'e done this before, but I make sure I limit the days spent at sea else I just end up waiting months for a nice juicy T3 in perfect weather.
It's a shame SH3 doesn't model food stocks.

Nice observation Wilhelm

I have also noticed Hartlepool is a great place to raid and lie off shore to nab those transiting merchants. It can get very hectic at times - mind you, you have to watch out for those DD's and Corvettes. Not sure about Type II careers - too limited in my opinion but if are using a VII there is plenty of targets for your 14 fish.

Does anyone know when the last duck was withdrawn from front line duty?

Be careful around those parts mind...apparently the locals were fond of hanging anyone who ventured ashore lol :rotfl:

Seems most were used as school training boats pretty early in the war
The type II of the 30th Flotilla seem to be the latest dated ones in front line service
All of the boats in the 30th had been school boats bought back into service for the Black sea with the last 3 being scuttled 10th Sept 44

By June 1940 they were all converted to training boats. A couple of them were sent to the Black Sea to fight Russian shipping.

AN73 is a very good place to hunt for the type II.
