Default how do i counter the conning tower rise

I read a post a while back about the conning tower in GWX rising out of the water and giving away the boats position, well it happened to me and im right in the middle of attacking a task force of battleships. Every time i try and lower the boat on the 25m depth gauge it won't let me and i get spotted any suggestions?

Going at anything below 2kts will cause your boat to rise. Try setting snorkel depth and see what happens.

However if you approach a convoy correctly then you can travel at 2-3kts and not be detected.

Or if you're planning to stop, run at 15 meters instead of 12 :P

That happened to me in the English Channel. Needless to say I'm in heavy combat at the moment, three boogies and the battles been going for about 3hrs. The boys are tired and I'm running out manouvers. All because my new chief coulden't level her.....first patrol....

Yes,i noticed that running at low speed if i want to stay at 12/13m i have to order 15/18m ....if you just order periscope depth the u-boat will stay at 10m and your conning tower will be spotted, expecially in rought sea !

Broaching the surface can ruin a whole day. Naturally your boat wants to float so you have to keep forward movement to keep it down. Ring up a meter below the periscope depth and keep your speed at 1-2kts. I rough seas it is even worse to handle.

its cool realistic feature of gwx, but perhaps it should be optional for some people, either way, so long as you keep moving it shouldnt be a major issue

Just watch your speed though... Speed = noise... Noise = death...

Everything is interlocked. (Yes we did that on purpose. )

Set a depth of 2/3 metres deeper when under 2knots...mind you that still aint no guarantee you won't brach the surface

I find setting my depth for 16m works well in this situation.
