Default Sank my first Pyro Ammunition ship

I just sank my first Pyro Ammunition ship playing a GWX campaign. There were two Pyro ships in the convoy. The first Pyro ship took one torpedo hit, but nothing happened and it kept right on going. The second Pyro ship took one torpedo hit, and then BOOM! Sank.

Good job GWX team.

If you hit the Pyro in Under the first mast from the bow it will explode and go down with a single shot (hint, hint )

The first time I sank a Pyro in testing... it blew up so hard I thought it would take me out too!

It may well damage other ships
I read something a while back of an ammo ship bombed in port and taking out half the buildings and a couple of other ships

Will try to find that again - somewhere in the Med IIRC

A little OT but there is a WW2 ship sunk 1 mile off Sheerness with around 3000tonnes of ammo still aboard
Now if that goes up you can kiss goodbye to Sheerness and Holland in the resulting tidal wave

I think the ship you are referring to is Clan Fraser.
She was bombed by aircraft in Piraeus on 6th April 1941 while discharging high explosive.
Only seven crew were killed but enormous damage was done to the port and other ships including Clan cumming, one of only two ships to survive the explosion.
(p 80 - Clan Line In Photographs - Avid Publications by Tony Blackler).
I understand they are thinking of doing something eventually with the ship at Sheerness.

That may be the ship
Thanx
The account I read was from an AA gunner on another ship in the same port that sank also

My understanding of the Sheerness ship - Richard something or other - Damn my memory - is that the fuses are now way unsafe to try to move

Not sure how they will get round that but its still there after 62 years

Ah found it - SS Richard Montgomery

Dont forget this Ammunition Ship explosion on May 21 1944 in Pearl Harbor..

On 21 May 1944 an ammunition ship exploded in West Loch in Pearl Harbor. LST-353, while loading mortar ammunition in preparation for the Saipan operation, burst into flame and exploded with a series of great roars that were heard all over the island and far out to sea. Thousands of rounds of various munitions either exploded or were dispersed over the area. The cataclysmic ammunition explosion killed 163 and injured 396. Six tank landing ships (LST-39, LST-43, LST-69, LST-179, LST-353, LST-480), three tank landing craft (LCT-961, LCT-963, LCT-983), and 17 track landing vehicles (LVTs) are destroyed in explosions and fires
