? about resinstalling SH3

I removed SH3 in order to install GWX. I resinstalled SH3 and then did the 1.4 b patch for US DVD. I am now getting this error message when trying to install the patch. F:\SilentHunterIII\data\Menu\en_help.txt:unknown version. I have also tried the other 3 1.4 b patches to see if they made a difference. No luck. Suggestions????

Please read again as I've revised my comments:

Delete any folders and files still current on your computer b4 reinstalling game, like the one in "My Documents". There might be a "Personnel Files" folder in my documents that you can get rid of as well. Then do a search for SH3* and "Silenthunter* for any possible remaining files on your computer and delete them too.

It wouldn't hurt to run a registry cleaner and defrag as well.
