Default Ship simulator 2006 wakes in SHIII?

Just bought Ship simulator 2006 (i know there isnt about war and shooting, but its an excellent shipgame..) , and the graphics are marvellous!!!! I was wondering; What kind of engine is this based on, and can the wake textures be implemented into SHIII?

find me the textures in SS2006, and we shall see.

and a few pictures will help too. I have a vague idea how wakes are done in SH III but am not saying i know all or that it is in faxct possible.

Gimme some pics and some textures, and we shall see what is possible!

Another negative about using your deck gun is that you are definately DETECTED, which has long term effects on your relationship with aircraft. -snestorm

I'm glad you said "bought" this time..:rotfl:
Just kidding ya, beat me up if you feel like it

Anyway, I tried the free demo of that sim. Not impressed, kinda boring. But that was just a small part of the game tho..

Why don't you show us a couple of screenshots?

When SS is like FSX, i will buy it. Realistic, covers the whole world, features a lot of radio traffic, moddable etc. Now it is just like Call of Duty 1-3 = running in a tube.

:rotfl::rotfl:Better to buy, and support them for future developments!

Yeah, its not a "war" game, but its kinda interesting, though.

BTW: I'll fix some screens, and i look for the textures!

When it comes to that ship sim, I don't see a challenge in driving around in that thing doing nothing...or maybe I missed the interesting part.

But Seth, you probably got FSX too, what IS interesting is that Microsoft with their flight sim can create a better looking water than any of these ship sims...that's my opinion.

Yes, but flight sims have been around since long before any serious ship / boat simulator. (I think the "reflective water textures" was first introduced in fs2004, long before any other game...Correct me if im wrong on this, though.) But i agree with you; FSX water is lookin' good!!!

well if you find the textures, they might be in *.dds format...
looks good, and so nice and bright too.

i do have doubts if the results will be like that in SH III thought, and not only because of the main texture, but also because of the attributes channel (Alpha)
wich would need to be redone.

and then, finally, the SH III engines "moves" the wake textures around, or, at least, gives me the impression of doing so. :rotfl:

but on the other hand side, one could also jhust use the Sjaj.tga, and delete the other animated textures, by totally blacking out the animated /moving textures...:hmm:

Nice idea! Everything that can improve our sim should be tested.

I hate plane sims. They move too fast and the rotation makes me feel dizzy

I like SH3 because everything moves in a slow, peaceful way (except PT boats, which usually exceed 15kts in speed)
