Default Right engine does not run when running on diesel

Hey laddies!

Gotta lil prob here.

When running on Diesel the right engine suddenly dies out.
When submerged the right engine runs fine as on batteries.

It decreases my max surfaced speed to a lousy 13 knots.

Hope someone has a solution.

Cheers!

Are you using SH3 Commander? This will throw in random equipment failure.

Have you just surfaced? If so, the right engine is being used to recharge the batteries. If you need the speed and don't care about the juice, click on the 'Chief' icon; one of the choices is to stop recharging. That will give you back the speed. Of course the batteries won't recharge if you do that, but when you're chasing down a convoy sometimes you need one over the other.

I suppose you mean the right shaft is stopped, as there is no way to see the engine itself is stopped ? Isn't this the one used for battery reload ? May be look in this direction, going for some reason on reload mode ?

No problemo, a French man can sometimes be useful, even without a wrench...

Hmmm...i always thought both engines were running during battery reload..but at lower rpm, since they had to run the generators.... But using the right engine exclusively to reload...Well, we learn something new every day....

Yeah, both engines run, but only 1 drives a prop. The other drives a generator/altenator to recharge the batteries. You'll notice a drop in performance too.

edit: I think SH2 was the same....
