Default Blocky video

Hi Guys,

Been a while, since I've been around this site, but having seen the trailer for SHIV it inspired me to re-install SHIII and get back into thye game.

However I've noticed a problem with the graphics and can't remember what the fix was (if any). When in external view (F12) and viewing the bow of the sub on the surface the screen has lots of black triangular blocks that flicker momentarily arond the centre of the screen. Thinking it might be graphics driver related I've downloaded the latest version for the series of card I have and that hasn't resolved it.

System specs:
AMD Athlon 2800+ at 2.2mHz
1GB PC3200 DDR RAM
Windows XP Home + SP2
128mb Graphics card based on ATI Radeo 9250 SE chipset
Driver Version 8.252.0.0 dated 03/05/2006
Direct X 9.0c

Any advice would be welcome

Cheers

Yes, the triangles are related to the ATI card. I do not know the fix if there is one with exception of getting an Nvidia card.

I have seen a thread that said some driver changes will help but not completely.
Anyway, Nvidia has cards out there for sale as little as $50.00 that will run the game fine.

I use a Nvidia 6200 256md OC card. Runs just swell. Got it for a song. Like $80.00 or something like that.
