Dive times are listed for each submarine type. However, I haven't seen ANY data on how quickly torpedoes reach their preset depth. I am very curious about this, because of certain factors in-game.
You can fire as deep as ~25m underwater (this is also the deepest you can set your torpedoes). Normally this is kind of pointless since you generally can't see what you are firing at. But I thought of a few options: -If you get REALLY good at plotting firing solutions, you could hit a target solely using the hydrophone and sonar. When the weather is awful you could hit targets from considerable distances. -Firing from 25m, you could launch a spread of FaT torpedoes at a convoy, hoping to hit a few ships. As before, if visibility is poor this is probably the best option. Your depth (and distance, possibly) would give you that much more time to evade escorts. |

Acoustics would work great. 25 meters is the max depth of all torpedoes, regardless of U-boat model. I think ladder-pattern torpedoes would also work well, firing them at an incoming convoy in bad weather so that you don't have to get quite so close to the ships just to get a visual.
