Default Tankers

Did full tankers really explode better than empty ones?

From normal fuel tanks I know that they tend to explode more devastating if they are empty, because of the ignition of gases trapped in the tank.

So what about the tankers ingame, usually if they are empty they tend to burn harder and take more torpedoes. Is this really accurate?

Takers that have emptied there cargo tend to take on water ballast, to maitain trim and stabliity. To reduce the chance of explosion from fuel vapors, the usualy vent CO2 into the tanks.

They exploed best if there full of avgas, but any oil is better that none!

I thought the game didn't distinguish between full and empty tankers. This is new to me.

I agree. So far all of the tankers I saw went down the same way.

As long as they sink, I'm happy.

You will notice the difference when you sink a tanker from a ship leaving England compared to one arriving. You will learn a few new curse words when you do (After putting 3 torps in a small tanker you will understand)
