Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the Bose Quiet Comfort 2/3 headphones on a PC? Sure would like to get some feedback before I decide to buy. I've tried them in the store but don't have a clue about performance on a PC, which is where I'd primarily use them.

BOSE = Buy Other Sound Equipment
Actually I jest. I rather like the sound quality of a lot of BOSE products...I just wish that: 1. They weren't so expensive. 2. They wouldn't exclusively rely on paper tweeters.

Just my 2 cents on the subject. -S PS. Forgot the subject was about headphones though - can't say I've tried them, but I've never gone out of my way to try any BOSE product since they don't sound very good to me. Not saying BOSE sounds bad bad, just not good. Of course, the headphones could be different. PPS. Paper is the ultimate speaker material since it can produce a near perfect wavelength of requested sound. Only problem is its ability to warp - so companies like B & W have been trying to get rigid paper speakers into all their product lines. The result these days is paper speakers infused with Kevlar to make them rigid. |

This is the ultimate speaker in my book at about $40K+ each (you need at least 2!):
![]() You can spend more from companies like Wilson (Want speakers that cost 6 digits? then look at Wilson), but all that extra money is spent on the cabinet design, and I think B&W has them beat on cabinet design since mother nature designed it - its your ear canal if you didn't notice! Here is a modern paper speaker. It is paper infused with Kevlar: ![]() Looks kind of cool, no? Anyway, I am still running a set of Teledyne Accoustic Research AR9's myself, with about 1000 Watts continuos power hooked up to them - bi-amped of course from 4 amplifiers. I am thinking I want a B&W upgrade, which should be a good jump, but I will be well into 5 digits if I do it for some 800's. I am still on the fence however and not in a big hurry however since the AR9's still sound pretty dang good to me! -S |
