Default Stuka Assist..

Running patched vanilla

Finished my patrol grid (below Gibraltar) and weather was miserable.. Couldn't see the flak gun while standing on the bridge. Decided to head up towards the Irish channel where I had sunk a few cargos on an earlier patrol..

Was cruising in much better weather (took 3 days to get there & the weather laid down) when one of the lookouts sighted a ship.. I checked it in the UZO and it was a nice C3. Sunrise was in 30 minutes so I sprinted ahead to an area and set up for a bow shot. I prefer to get around 500 meters.. I settled in at periscope depth, fired up the gramaphone to calm the crew and took a quick hydrophone reading.. Heard two sets of screws on almost the same bearing.. Checked my map & sure enough, two black lines.. Checked the scope & saw a second C3 trailing the first!! Had plenty of eels so I set all tubes for 10 meters and magnetic.. Kept the scope up to verify the plot I had and they were running straight & true A few more minutes and they were mine...

About then I see a blue triangle appear on my nav map & headed right towards the cargos.. Dummy me didin't look right away at the scope, but when I did, both cargos were ablaze and barely making headway.. The Stuka headed back to base & I repositioned for a shot.. The initial C3 took one eel and the second took 1 eel and 5 rounds of HE.. I was suprised to see that I had gotten full credit for both cargos!!!!

Too cool... Too bad they're never around when I'm getting DC'd

The airforce is helping you whenever possible

I think you get the kill if the ship goes down from you. Meaning that if you fire 3 torpedoes at a ship and it's almost sinking (you haven't seen the 'She's Going Down' message yet) and someone fires one shot with the deck gun and the ship sinks HE gets the kill. It's a strange system I know but I don't think it can change.

Yea that is so.

Just now i encountered a taskforce in the med ( 1 Fiji, 2 Dido) and i was stupid enough to report it.
I got into a perfect position and fired to eals at the Fiji.
The fish where closing the distance when the Luftwaffe arrived and the Fiji started
to turn

She still got hit by the two eals and was starting to sink but then she got hit
by bombs and my kill was gone

It was fun anyhow.

Regards
Dieter

I've been playing this game since day one and I've never run into any kind of friendly air cover. Something to look forward to I guess.

I've not seen any friendly air cover either, but I'm only on my 10th patrol.

The only time I saw friendly air cover was in 1944(!!!!) outside Norway as I was attacking a Medium Cargo. It was a battle between me and the Ju-87s of who will sink it first. Thankfully I won

Our patrol planes! Where are they? Answer that one, Herr Goering! The British have plenty of them! Talking big is all he's good for, that fat slob.

Same here and even with convoys I never ask for help because usually I can take out the whole convoy in one or two passes depeneding on if I already sank the escorts.
