Default Should I take the U-Flack?

I am in June-july of 1943 and the U-Flack is available. Should I take it or should I take the VIIC/3 tower?
I have not seen many aircraft in GW.

I'm a Kaluen that likes to man the flak guns (Quads) and take on the flyboys. As long as you are a good shot you'll be fine 75 to as high as 95% of the time even quite late into the war but still they might get lucky.

It doesn't matter much. Aircraft don't appear too often. I say keep the 500 renown and get the VIIC/3 unless you're U-441, 621, or 256. Besides, diving is the best option against aircraft and if that's impossible you're screwed either way.

Far be it from me to tell you what you should do. I wouldn't, but my preferences are probably far different than yours.

Run two different careers; then you can take both.

Take it. In '43 you'll have a hard time finding unprotected escorts and the DC will do you no good. I'd wait a bit longer, but get it as soon as you have enough renown.

95%???
Have you encountered any B-24s or avengersl yet? Espesiclly Avengers, man- they'll chew your U-flak to bits before you even know they are there.

The U-Flak was a failure, stay on Turm 3 and crash dive every time that you see a plane, and feel the fear as a Kaleun, this game is a sub simulation not a shot'm'all

In late war my sub is equiped with the 2cm c/38 quad and 2 c/38 flack but in 44 onward they won't help you much the only time I will open up on planes is either they caught me of guard or when am leaving/entering port.

Taking on those planes is a piece of cake! Hit Flank speed, then man the flakguns and zig zag right to left every 20 seconds or so, ive outlived an attack of 5 B24's coming at me shot 2 down the other 3 came back for seconds and still missed - slight damage from gun fire but no heavy damage.
If you decide to attack on the surface just dont travel in a straight line. Zig Zag all the way. I haven't had the chance to try it yet using Greywolves, its mid 1941 in my career but im expecting to be sunk when i do:hmm:
