Default Newbie Mods Questions

I have recently started playing SH3 and am hooked. Have previously downloaded various mods including Real UBoat. Then saw Grey Wolves which looks to be real cool and am currently preparing to instal that.

The GW Read Me says GW should be installed over a clean, un-modded SH3 1.4b. I have 1.4b. Rather then reinstalling SH3, could I try installing GW over what I have and see how it goes? If no good, I could then take the clean re-install SH3/GW approach?

If I do end up starting clean, what other mods would people suggest (if any) in addition to GW? Should I re-install Real Uboat too or is it not needed if GW is there? (I like to play 100% realism).

Cheers

KC

I would reinstall and patch it right away, as you may meet a storm of issues later.

I only use a couple of smaller mods with GW, some skins and some sounds. GW is such a strong package. I dont play at 100%, but GW is way harder than stock SH3.

Id just risk it and install grey wolves, worst comes to worst, just install silent hunter again, run the patch, then install grey wolves

When GWX is released it should be installed onto a brand new installation of SH3 patched to 1.4b. Our installer will perform several checks to verify that this is infact the case when you use it. If GWX is not installed over a brand new installation of SH3 patched to 1.4b... it will fail to install and will alert the user.

@ Bagder Finn

Please see this post by Jscones (author of the installer)

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...&postcount=109

This is his reply to someone who would not drop the subject regarding the installer, so it may be a bit heated.

The Kpt is a busy man and I'm sure you'll understand that he can't answer the same question over and over again.

'Wade' through the GWX NEWS thread if you...
1)want to see a good show (hello ladies )
and
2)want more info

Thanks Danlisa. Essentially repeated again here... http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...&postcount=453

It's the last para that is of significant importance.
