Running GWX:
One of the things that drives me nuts is the ability of DD's to pick up a stationary sub that is just off the surface, regardless of sea state. IIRL, even with today's gear it is practically impossible to detect a diesel/electric boat that is running silent. This is made more difficult in rough seas, when sea clutter creates a lot of ambient noise. Yet DD's can and will find your "hole in the water" even if steaming by at 8kts. So, any way to turn that down?

Actually, I've just thought, I'm currently using the 8km version which might be a better option for you depending on your system specs.
Does somebody have a link (I'm at work right now) ? |
