Default Council Inspectors

First of all sorry XabbaRus it's from that paper you hate.

Second I am not mad as hell but concerned.

Third, as far as I know this will not effect Scotland.

The problem with this these inspectors will be ticking off boxes on there check list with out taking in to account of the persons life style and there savings.

THis I agree with you on.

They are planning a similar thing in Scotia.

Thing is what was teh last computer system from America that the govt used, mmm NHS database I think and what a cockup, Tax Credit one too.

What bugs me is that all houses in the last 10 years have been built with double glazing as standard. It isn't an improvement. Also the house I have had a conservatory fitted at the build stage.

If I have to choose between paying the mortgage and paying council tax I know which one I'll choose. No this is mad. I agree that some sort of adjustment is necessary but with CT going up above inflation every year surely they can be reasonable. Hmm govt. reasonable. Now there's a thought.

See, that's the beauty of forward thinking, revitalising centuries old ideas/taxes in the spirit in which they were created... Sweet, a return to the good old days of royal decree:
bring back the window tax and the hearth tax, that way we can all brick up our windows and fireplaces just to not get stung with 'extra' tax for having too many panes of glass in our windows or (god forbid) a fireplace in every room.. how very decadent!

This is the problem they will come in your home with a clinical attitude, not interested in you and your life and so on. The window tax has been bought back, lucky for me my front view is of the street and the back view is the the garden down stairs which looks like a mess, so that's one tax they can not hit me with.
