Default Easy target for all you harbour raiders

Ponte Delgado, Azores.

Open in a 270° arc from the south, few patrols and deep water.

But only few noticeable targets (attacked in 11/43), I spotted a couple of DDs, an armed trawler, some smaller vessels and a troop transport.

I sunk a neutral tug (doh) and one of the patrolling trawlers, pumped 5 torps into the troop transport but it still refused to sink...

Here's a pic of the harbor vicinity. Using TGW 1.1a.

Yeah, I've been there as well, but earlier in the war. No DDs there then, but I managed to sink a British tanker and small merchant, and a neutral Brazilian freighter who asked for it by shooting at me

Good fun!

Cheers,

*frowns* Okay Dan, now I think that's just LOW of SH3...I'm assuming you still got docked renown for sinkin that Brazillian freighter...

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but during the war, in any circumstances involving any countries, if you were fired upon first without provocation, didn't that make the person who fired first a hostile and therefore okay to sink?

See, now that's what I thought - I didn't actually attack the Brazilian freighter until he had shot at me, and at that moment, my torpedoes still hadn't hit the other British ships, so I can't see that I provoked the Brazilian at all. Therefore, he committed a hostile act first, presumably making it alright for me to defend myself. Obviously I still got docked renown, but that's just SH3.

*shakes head* We really need to get this fixed...this happened to me off of...I want to say it was Capetown (or maybe Freetown...had a patrol off of southern Africa in a IXD2 in my last career when this happened), and I was shooting up a S. African merchant ship when an American C3 started taking potshots at me with a deck gun and when I emptied my stern tubes into him and blew him to Kingdom Come, it gave me a docking in renown for sinking a neutral when I got back to base!
