Default Reported range, help please

hi guys.
Just a quick question for you vets, will only take a sec.
I play with GWX2.1 and OLCE2Ubermod pt. 1 (the environment).
you know when the sonar guy or watch officer reports "contact!...long range" or "contact!...medium range"....? well, what are the approximate range ranges (?) in Km?
sorry if its an obvious question. i do remember reading this info somewhere but im jiggered if i can remember where.
cheers

If on the surface you can ask your Watch
Officer for nearest visual contact and if a ship has been
sighted he will give you the bearing and range.

A quick look at the Data\Cfg\Contacts file shows:

Short=1000 ;[m]
Medium=8000 ;[m]
Long=16000 ;[m]

I'm using the 16km mod.

Oddly, the stock ranges are:

Short=1000 ;[m]
Medium=3000 ;[m]
Long=20000 ;[m]
