New Scopes.. once again.
Did this for SH3 widescreen, and not being happy with SH5 scope optics.
Just finished attack scope - Gradations are an accurate presentation of basic TDW camera zoom factors = what you see is the 'correct' optic angles, etc.. Oh! also got rid of that horrible all black background, and added some scope room atmosphere background. Still UZO, Binocs and Obs to do... later |

The idea is not bad and look good. But in my opinion it will be better if you add a separate background behind the single round instruments and their labeling, because the tower view on the right side it to light and distract a littlebit.

Darkened the RHS of the scope room , and some cosmetic changes.
Obs scope, IIRC should have a wider FOV. Currently TDW has the FOV the same as the attack scope. Will address this if necessary. Literally the same image as the attack scope ( ), The background will indicate where you are. Some problems with TDW real nav to attend to. Binoculars after a bit of massaging. Slightly off-centre.. will correct this. |

Looks very nice
Maybe you could make the background of the scopes with some blur, and the attack scope with reddish background, as in a night attack. Could be an optional. Only an idea. Waiting for test. Many thanks! Fitzcarraldo

Ok.. the final images, as far as I know
I haven't tested extensively (My TDW is V2.2.24) and not at night yet. The mod is only minor text editing on the 'pages' files and graphics images, so not expecting any game breaks. I'll look at popping this into the TDW forum pages when packaged. This first image is the area one has to work in. I think these 'marking lines' are set in stone so had to work within the indicated area. The UZO zoom (7x) works fairly well, but I'd say a 7.1x zoom would be more accurate, but didn't want to go playing with the 'Cameras' file. Just keep it to Pages and Graphics. I seemed to have lost my original binoc eye-piece images, so had to smudge the UZO and Binoc with a 'thousand layers' to get a reasonable image. Binocs zoom is 8x in the cameras file, so ignore the Zeiss plaque. It's just there to pretty things up. Attack scope.. Obs scope.. |
