Default S3Editor in Win 8 and later?

Hi everyone,

Has anyone managed to get Skwas's S3Editor to work in Windows 8.1 or later? I have new(ish) machine with that OP system on it and the program won't install properly due to DirectX issues.

Can anyone give some guidence as to which DX components I have to download in order to get the programme to work? Since Microsoft is pushing Win 10, the redirect on installation no longer goes to the correct page.

Thanks in advance,

Mike.

This guy mainly plays with trainsims, but addresses similar problems - games written for DX8 or DX9 and operating systems that don't come with them by default.

This one is supposed to be an automatic fixer for VISTA and later;

Thanks Sniper, much appreciated!

I'll have a potter around and see how things go.
