Chromebooks may be opened to use Windows 10 apps in dual boot

Okay, privacy-wise Google is a waste, but their hardware seems to work much better than that of Microsoft, their security support is much better than that of Windows, and you can use Windows-apps without using Windows 10. Google Chrome is what Windows10 wants to be - or not?

Damn, I am sorry but somehow it completely escaped my attention on firts reading that they< did noit tlak of using Windows apps unde rchrome, but oipenign the hardware of Chromebooks to duel booting with Windows. So, its not a hack to use Windows apps without Windows, its only allowing Chromebooks to dual boot into Chrome and into Windows.
Must have had too weak coffee this morning. Still, Its a Chromebook, no Surface, and that alone has its merits already. The Surface line of notebooks got haunted by disaster after disaster.

Using Windows Programs without using Windows... On a Chromebook, which uses the Linux kernel... They already do that (Windows Programs without Windows). It's called WINE. Barracuda EDIT: 400th post! Last edited by BarracudaUAK; 08-16-18 at 07:55 PM. |
