Default Mod for training torpedoes, and your normal approach procedure...

Ahoy me Mateys!!!!,

Splice the Mainbrace and tell me yar opinions on these matters:

1- Be'ther a mod fer them Training pickles ? since I'd love a wargame exercise with an inert warhead on them friendly ships in our backyard and rest place...

2- When you start tracking, what's your normal approach to a convoy?? And what are the SJ-I radar improvement to the normal SJ? Be it range or .....?

3- Are the range scales of the radar (be it the A-scope or PPI) moddable to reflect them true ranges?? I keep getting erroneous range readings and I'd like to understand the meaning of these ranges on the A-scope... Meters or Yards? And is there a mod for correcting the radar in 2D? Like maybe add few more bearing scales to the PPI? or even to the A-scope?


Aye, it's me time ta weigh anchor and hoist the mizzen..

Arrrrr captn' solo! Be the millenium falcon well today?

IMHO someone here, with expertise in creating and editing missions, should create a training mission with a walkthrough, and post it in a sticky. Would save a lot of discussions.

I tried to create a training mission along the lines of what O'Kane described in his books, where a friendly DD or APD sailed over the horizon to play the part of a "enemy" ship and they made an approach with practice torpedos. Since I don't know how to nerf the torpedos, I figured I would just set them to run under. I would know if my shots were good by watching with the external cam. Seeing where the torps run and how close/far from the target is the most important element here. Anyway, I set up the mission and make the approach. After I launch the torpedos, I am peering through the scope, watching intently, and what do I see? The APD turns like a PT boat, and goes around them.

Oh well, back to the drawing board.
