about TonnageWar...

hello again. several questions!
-i got (as i said before) GreyWolves installed. awesome AWESOME mod! ube-frikin'-livable! but ummmm it said in FAQ that shots of the deckgun to the waterline will do nothing. is this true? where should i shoot then? and when stop shooting?
-so i got tonnagewar d/l'd. now i can install it after i got greywolves, right? anything else to install? if yes, how?
-i can install SH3 commander just now right? after greywolves? which is sooooo awesome, btw. i think i'll change deckgun reload times to the default 8 sec. cuz 12 sec is a bit much.

P.S. how do i change my avatar? where?

Shooting below the water line is affective..the damage model relies on flooding, so if more area's of the ship are flooding the ship will sink quicker.
Installing Sh3 cmdr no problem.
installing the tonnagewar will break certain area's of GW
i would suggest make a dual install of SH3 so you can use both mods

Remember that Grey Wolves and NYGM Tonnage War are completely seperate mods and cannot be used together.

As for the waterline thing, I think that's a typo. Shots other than the waterline will do little. You really do want to hit the waterline mostly to help areas flood, leading to sinking.

Again, NYGM Tonnage War and Grey Wolves are seperate "supermods" and you can't install them on top of each other. You can have seperate installs of them (two copies of SH3 one with GW, one with NYGM).

You can use SH3 Commander with either mod, just remember to rollback changes before using the other mod just in case.

Your avatar here will change based on your post count. You can donate to the site though and get your own custom avatar if you wanted to though.

but... well i dont think i'm there yet (to install a second SH3 just for tonnagewar). i thought they were able to get along. mwaaaaaaaaaaaa (good thing i asked b4 installing, huh? )

what about making a ship sink w/torpedoes? it seems to be a lot harder with greywolves than before. or have i gone all screwy?

No it is harder as ships sink by flooding rather than just exploding
GW1.1A uses the NYGM damage model so ships flood and no longer fall apart easily - they do still blow sometimes though
Aim your torpedos for different compartments so flooding is increased
