It's a good time for merchant ships, In addition to Ship Simulator, version 2 of the new Ports of Call 3d simulation an add-on for "platinum level users" of the POC ship management game is coming along nicely.

Both the main game and 3d sim whilst not 100% feature complete yet are "ever evolving" based on user feedback. The game is based on an old Amiga classic and is being created by the original developers.
