Default Bargin basement shopping

Greatings all,

I am currently running the MVP, sound enviorment and Harbor Traffic mod, I tried to lower the renown cost for upgrades and subs but it does not seem to work. I modified the basic.cfg file and tried running it with and without SH3 commander. Any ideas? Is there another file which needs to be changed?

Help save commander Hans Moleman some renown!!!

Default renown

sh3 commander has a back up of the basic cfg which it loads to use so you will have to amend that one too - least thats what i found

in the sh3 commander directory in C:/ program files sh3 commander/backup/data/cfg - i just copied and pasted the one i had amended in the game data

Wrong. SH3Cmdr does not include a Basic.cfg. SH3Cmdr writes some specific values to Basic.cfg (as defined in "Basic changes.cfg") after backing up the existing version, but does not overwrite the whole file. Needless to say, SH3Cmdr by default wouldn't overwrite any manually modified renown values (UNLESS OF COURSE the changes were made to Basic.cfg while SH3Cmdr files WERE STILL INSTALLED in SH3 - that is, if the user DID NOT perform a rollback in SH3Cmdr first, which is exactly what bigboywooly has experienced. PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS AND ALWAYS ROLLBACK SH3CMDR BEFORE MAKING GAME FILE CHANGES!!!!).

#the_doc: SH3Cmdr Combined Skins Pack includes MVP, so if you have it installed you do not need to run the MVP separately.

Personally, I wouldn't lower the renown of anything - there's too many entries to modify. I'd simply increase the renown that I start the career with - only one entry to change then.
