RUB 1.45 PROBLEMS

CAN ANYONE HELP?
I HAVE INSTALLED THE MOD USING JSM MOD INSTALLER AND THE GAME STARTS TO LOAD....
THEN I GET THE FOLLOWING ERROR MESSEAGES AND THE GAME CRASHES.

1. THERE IS A NEW(NOT EMPLEMENTED PAGE:< PAGE INGAME OPTIONS>!

2. MENU ID NOT FOUND 0 X 1a000008!

THE GAME THEN CRASHES BACK TO DESKTOP .

CAN ANYONE HELP? I THINK THAT EVERYTHING INSTALLED OK

Looks to me like you're trying to run RUb 1.45 on a pre-1.4b version of the game.

That happens to me when a mod has confliting menu ini.
i use task manager to stop warning and then click on SH3 in task bar.

Then I get really ticked off that I reinstall this @#$%$ game for the bazillionth time.

ManI am glad I bought the DVDs.
Sure has taught me a lot about notepad.

Yeah. It happens a lot because it seems most people don't read readme files. RUb isn't meant to be used with any mod except SH3 Commander. As the readme says:

"RUb has not been tested with any other mod other than SH3 Commander, and use of any other mod with RUb may cause bugs, lockups or crashes."

It never ceases to amaze me - the vast amount of problems that people create for themselves simply because they don't want to spend a minute reading the documentation that comes with a mod. I estimate that 99% of all mod 'bug reports' come from players doing something incredibly ill-advised that the readme file warns them not to do. It's fine to mix mods as long as you know how to look for, and solve, conflicts. But I think most people just assume they can just stack any number of mods with no ill effect. It's kinda like assuming that they can disable their home's fire alarms, then warm their house by setting fire to their curtains.

installed the patch from ubisoft to bring my version of silent hunter to 1.3 patch and now my cd key wont work the validation check have been onto ubisoft customer support who told me to clean the disc and reinstall everything which i have done and still no joy any ideas anyone PLEASE!!?

List of events.

Problem: had silent hunter 3 retail and wanted to use Rub 1.4 mod.

1. reinstalled sh3
2.download patch from ubisoft dvd 1.4b because this was needed for mod to work.
3. installed jonesoft mod enabler
4. after running patch 1.4b cd key no longer works on validation

Did you fully delete all remaining SH3 files and folders after uninstallation? The SH3 uninstaller only removes files that it added, it does not remove any files that other mods added, so if you installed RUb into SH3 then uninstalled SH3, a number of files would have been left behind.

You really need to:
-(Rollback SH3Cmdr if you are using it)
-Disable all mods that you have enabled via JSGME
-Uninstall SH3 via Add/Remove programs
-TOTALLY delete any remaining files and folders under C:\Program Files\UbiSoft\SilentHunterIII (or wherever you installed SH3)
-Reinstall SH3
-Install v1.4b DVD patch appropriate to your region - that is either the EMEA or US patch. Do not install the download version patch.
-Reinstall JSGME
-Reinstall RUb 1.45 into JSGME and enable

At which step would you reinstall Commander?

You don't need to uninstall or reinstall SH3Cmdr - just roll it back FIRST. That will remove any files that it may have copied into the game.

After you've fully reinstalled everything else, and have ran SH3 at least once to create the save game folder and files, then you can resume loading via SH3Cmdr.
