I'm I Cheating?

I'm using the RealDC mod that reduces the depth charge max blast range from 40 to 20 meters. The author of this mod claims this is more realistic.
Anybody have any info on depth charges range?
I don't want to make life easier for myself, just looking for the most realistic experience!

Read especially the wording under the Mark VII Heavy:
"The British claimed this DC would split a 0.875 inch (22 mm) hull at 20 feet (6.1 m) and force a submarine to surface at about twice that distance. A minol charge introduced in 1942 increased these distances to 26 feet (7.9 m) and 52 feet (15.8 m), respectively."

Wow, 26 feet.

Trust me, friend, you're not cheating, the stock game is.

Also note under the American section how rare a kill actually was: 35% at the end of the war is real good, but it also means you have a 65% chance of getting away.

I remember installing a mod (RealDC?) that brought it down to 15m, but I'm a bit hazy on it and not at home. Does anyone know which CFG to check for my current setting?

The location is data/library/depthcharge.zon if I'm not mistaken.
