They have brought it on themselves.
Although the UK and US and others saying to others they can't have nukes might sound hypocritical can you blame them whne you look at who wants the nukes. Russia came up with a good compromise which I think the US and EU would have gone for. Iran gets its power, we don't have to worry about loose nukes and Russia looks good on the international stage and makes some money. Hate to say it but I hope it stops at sanctions and Iran do a U-turn, otherwise limited air-strikes against facilities. I think if it went all the way to the UN and the US was open about it I think they could get support. For all this muslim solidarity etc, I don't think any country in the Gulf region wants Iran to have nukes. |

:rotfl: Yeah, before Iran even came to these talks, the 'THREE" said something like "when they come, we tell them they should stop all development. only than they can regain credibility".
LIKE THEY GIVE A RATS ARSE about what you think, Mr. Straw and the likes. You gotta fekin wake up and realise yuo can't treat Iran like some 3rd world country, and be actually willing to talk to it. Accept the fact that they are developing nuclear energy and figure out a way to compromise, i.e. do it something along the lines of a russian proposal at least. All your STUPID black and white approach to politics is going to backfire. Not to mention that EU as an entitiy can't get sh*t done lately, in anything. Pathetic if you ask me. The talks led by EU's 3 fail... what else is bloody new. They are as good at negotiating things that they were when they were talking to Hitler and Stalin... ![]() ![]() |

![]() ![]() Does anyone find it remarkable, that not a single country in the entire world has ever fired a nuclear weapon at another country since the Second World War.........and isn't it also remarkable that not one nuclear device hasn't gone off by accident???????? |

Actually Type941 the EU would be quite happy with the Russian compromise, I haven't read anything in teh UK or foreign press criticising the Russian approach.
thing is no one has a problem with Iran having nuclear power stations for civilian power. They just don't want Iran to have the bomb and quite frankly nor do I. You have a chip on your shoulder you need to remove mate, ain't gonna win you friends. I think the way things have been done have been the best possible when you have an idiot like Mujahabbawhatever the **** his name is in control. Iran under this guy is more worrisome than NK with lil Kim. |

Type 941, you are entitled to your opinion ( freedom of speech ) as are all of us at Subsim.com. Your opinion is not neccessarily wrong either in the long term future.

Yes, I believe that the clean version is: 'Opinions are like backsides: Everybody's got one.' Unlike backsides, opinions only count if they are based on something factual. Otherwise, I can run around arguing that green is red all day long, which is just silly.
Anyway, after almost five years of having my country called all kinds of horrendous names by the citizens of Europe, I am in complete favor of taking a back seat on this one and letting the vaunted Europeans clean up their own mess. As an American, I will be happy to armchair-quarterback the proceedings as well. However, this will not happen. People will cry 'where is America?' and 'help us, America!'. We will respond, as usual. And, as usual, when the crisis is over, they will tell us to get lost and go back to calling us genocidal imperialists. Nothing ever changes. |

Europe is a chicken. Again. Follows US in all majore events. Wants to be 'nice' to america after trying to stick it with Iraq. Will support the war, but as always, will not lift a finger in actually sending people. Decaying rule makers that lost its ideals when they decided that there's elite europe, and not elite europe.
Russia is so desperate of any political glory on international scene that it will sleep with Hamas, give AA tech to Iran and so on. All for another 15 minutes of fame as a world superpower. Who cares that people can't eat properly at home. Toying with lion comes to mind. US is sh!tting bricks because nuclear Iran will tell it to get lost from the middle east. Also it failed in Iraq, people at home are fed up and the president with his gunhoe oil lobby is running out of time to get things right. And they know it. Quote:

Actually Type941 if your definition of the Europe not being able to sort things out is that we don't shoot first and ask questions later then you are correct. I don't see how diplomacy = Chicken.
You could also look at it this way. A problem arises, Europe uses diplomacy, things go from bad to worse, the US wades in with the military, Europe kicks up a fuss but doesn't do anything to stop it. Why? Well US troops go in, the US is villified and becomes teh target. If it goes to rat **** then the blame is directed at you guys, if it goes well Europe shares the credit. Quiet a good strategy if you think about it. International arse covering and blame deflection... Oh one thing I never seem to hear though is any thanks to the UK for sticking by the US however misguided it might be at the time. Sure a couple here have said so but not too many. |
