Default Stuck on 16bit

Hmm, I don't know if I had experienced this before but I seem to be stuck on 16bit color mode, since I can see washed colors at night and the splash image(when you start sh3, with the uboat and silent hunter lettering) has weird color patterns around the "glare" in the center, clearly it is running in 16bit mode.

Help? How can I force it to tun 32bit?

I'm using the latest patch and running on a Radeon 9600SE.

Is your display settings set to 32-bit and did you click "apply" before closing the window?

I don't know about Radeon cards, but NVidia cards comes with the NVidia Desktop Manager. You can alter your resolution settings to be controled by application, or manually. Do you have a similar program?

I have a similar program but it can't force BPP(bitsperpixel) only refresh rate(Hz).

There is no 16bit-32bit option in the video options in SH3, so no.

That's not what I meant.

If you right-click anywhere on your desktop and go to "properties". Is your current display set at 32-bit (highest) under the "Color Quality" box?

Is it only SH3 thats running in 16Bit ?

If not then I would tend to say your vidcards about to do a dummy spit.
If on the other hand its only SH3 thats running in 16bit, then either you have a driver issue, or SH3 is faulty. Try a driver update first failing that you maybe looking at a reinstall of SH3.

Good Luck.

Sorry if it seemed like that was a stupid question,. The reason why I asked is because I've noticed that sometimes after installing a new graphics driver, the Color Quality is set back to 16-bit along with having to reset your display resolution.

My system doesn’t force SH3 to run at 16-bit or vice versa. I'm interested in why your game is running that way.

Hmm, I'm going to re-install video drivers then re-install SH3 and see what's up then.

Thank you both for being helpful.
