Default Dangerous Waters game play trailer. (Via Steam)

Hi there, this is the trailer that is available on the steampowered web site. It shows what looks like a new merchant model as well as some new sound and graphical effects…

http://storefront.steampowered.com/v...am_800x600.wmv
(68mb)

Also, www.steampowered.com now has it own Dangerous Waters forum space that can be found here:

http://forums.steampowered.com/forum...7de&forumid=63

At this time there is not much there and people are asking questions about the game. It might be a good idea to visit there, talk about the game and generate some interest on the board about this up coming release.

Yes, please do so!

I encourage ANYONE to create a Steam forum account (it takes a day or two for them to create it for you though, it's not instantaneous) and to help these new potential customers understand the ropes of the game and most importantly just express your excitement and passion for DW so they understand what they're getting for their hard-earned money.

Thanks for mentioned this, Winston!

This one is smaller, TLAM but could still take a couple hours on dial-up at 28MB.

Very nice preview! I think that gives people a good idea what to expect, the only think it was missing was sensor use...

I hope we get that new freighter!

I've been trying to get a few screen caps but...well, I'm not having luck. The old print screen key and ms paint is what I do but it fails to get an image. Also tried a few downloads including fraps but no joy. How do you get screen caps off movies? Is there some proper way of doing things?

Also looks like the Akula model has had a touch up as the TA pod is much smaller and is it me or is there less rust? The explosions now show debris flying off the merchant after the torpedo impact which is pretty cool.

I was also thinking of writing up a descent FAQ for the steam forum but frankly there’re are people who know a lot more about the game than me. It needs to be too the point and a good read. It also needs to give a good account of the game and explain just what this simulation is about. Most people on the steam forum are first person shooter fans however I’d bet that there are some who are in to simulations and would love Dangerous Waters.

After much effort I got them working, so with out further a do…

The Akula doing it’s thing, note the smaller TA pod.

Akula lunching a torpedo

FFG and its little friend in action.

The fabled Merchant….

Exploding! Ho hum!

p.s. got them working on a different computer via the print screen, ms paint combo. Must be something up with mine.

Wow. That trailer is awesome. That new cargo ship looks great. I do hope we can get it.

The smaller pod on the Akula has been there since the beginning. I've really only done the quick missions, so you can choose it there.

That merchant looks to WWII-ish. Its 2006 lets see some Ro-Ros or Container Ships or SEABEEs.

Well, from playing a bit of SH3, it looks like a C2 Cargo. I think the SCS on the smoke stack adds a nice touch. I can see that the slow diving issue is resolved.

All in all, very good!
