Default Sound Problems

Anyone having sound problems? I can hear everything but the ship sounds, i.e. music, opening cut scene. I don't hear any ship sounds, i.e. engines, etc.

Any advice?

Thanks

Yep, every platform, including AI platforms. It should be noted that all other sounds can be heard, i.e. comms, missile warnings, engines from INTERNAL view only, etc. The only sounds I'm missing are external engine sounds on all platforms, AI and player controlled.

Thanks

Do you have 3D sound enabled in the Sound options? Check the status messages on the second page of sound options to see if enough 3D buffers are created.

I have the same problem, but just now ans then, very annoying though.
Have to close the game and restart.
Only ship, sub and bio noise in BB.

I have XP Pro and onboard sound. Also, I'm using the 1.03 beta patch. That's when the problem started. I'm going to try a reinstall.

Thanks

Guys..if u can get any cheap PCI sound card and get rid of that onboard junk....
It consumes computer resources, and it makes a lot of problems with DirectX....Take any Creative and u will hear the diference... :rotfl:

I have creative live, but when I install the software XP go's in some sort of loop. It restart direct after opening and I can't figure out what causes.
It started after a reinstall from win xp.
