Default Impossible

With the diving speed so reduce it impossible to evade torpedoes. I have put myself in the position several times the last few days running V1.03 beta and the dive rate is to slow. You can override rudder but can do nothing with planes. I have tried everything I can do to speed up the dive rate and nothing seems to work.
I believe this is a good version with the exception of diving rate and towed array dployment and retrieving. It is taking a good 6-7 monutes to do either, but I have only been using the US Boats.
But with these two problems we were almost better off with 1.01.

yeah me and savage wolf were doing MP on a 688i took at least 4 mins from surface to 60 feet when you should be at least 500feet in that time (full power full trim)

Quick way to dive...flank and full rudder....though you risk crashing too.

Nuc or Coner?

I'm a former IC2(SS) Coner myself.

I think Hutch has figured out the dive rate issue (along with numerous others) but the TA deployment is a new one... We'll take a look.

That is good news.

I wonder though if we could ever get manual control of the dive planes like we do with the rudder, and for joystick support.

Now that would be cool.

What about high speed turns? Are they still losing attitude control, spinning out, going backwards, or whatever the heck is going on? If the physics model is "right" on this, will we get automatic dive plane adjustment and new rudder hotkeys to make up the difference? Being able to turn is kinda important when there are torpedoes headed your way, dialing in a new course never turns the boat quickly enough...

:hmm: I wonder how much effort it would be to modify a vehicle "racing" controller.............. :rotfl:

Seriously, the joystick support thing for boat driving would be an interesting option.

Keep in mind adding any kind of new options requires reconstructing the menu interface system, which is actually a massive pain in the ass.
