Default Phantom Convoy?

Here's the thing:

I was on patrol in AM18 in 1940, got a message from BDU of a large convoy directly east of me just on the other side of the grid. I steamed toward it and found nothing. I went deep for a sonar check... nothing. I had saved it right after I had recieved the report on the convoy, so I loaded the save and tried looking for it again. I never did find any convoy. Is this a bug?

Talking of phantoms, I sneaked into Aberdeen on a cold, eerie, misty night and spotted what looked like an old tanker sitting at dock. We fired two torps into her, .....nothing, not a sound. Got a bit closer, could just make her decks out thanks to the full moon. She was a sort of creepy shimmering light blue
We opened fire with the deck gun, ......again there was no sound, except from the gun itself,.......and then,... it just vanished, like it was never there.
I've never seen my crew turn so white, we legged it out of there sharpish.
A word of warning to all ye bold mariners, beware the Scottish ghost tanker, stay away from Aberdeen on cold foggy nights....
Ye've been warned.

I've missed some of those 'small convoys' a few times because I didn't pay attention to the BdU message that said they were moving at 0kts. Maybe you couldn't hear them because they weren't moving?

Your thinking of Final Countdown.

The convoys and task forces spawn and disapperes at random so it is possible that it vanished just before you arrived...

However I would agree that it is suspect that it does that...Guess you could call that a bug

It was there alright, my watch officer saw it too. It was only when we started shooting and fired torps it disappeared
