Good question. I'm not sure but it could be that one or both was removed when they cut the entrances in the sides for tourists.
I hope I get to visit it one day. It is a shame to see the bulkhead hatches enlarged as well. |

doing web-research, I see the term "pail" used a bit... so I guess it was a true "porta-potty" used in the diesel room
