Default Illustious Fleet Carrier Spotted!!

'twas february 23, 1941. i was tired of playing patty-cake with numerous swordfish torp planes and headed north to BE38 under full steam. within a few, i received a call from the watch that a warship was seen. clambering over to the periscope, lo and behold there was an illustrious fleet carrier just sitting doing squat.

i snuck in closer and fired all four tubes...

rite before they struck, the brits fired up the wagon and eluded two of the torps...from 0 to 8 knots in a flash...

the two torps that struck slowered her to a crawl and i finished her with two more..

what a deal, 23k in tons!

woot!!

Is this in stock game?

Things like that I don't like in SH3 - what were the real life chance of sinking one of these in such conditions. Congrats on the kill though, tonnage is tonnage.

yes, it's the stock game and a few mods loaded.

i was just as surprised as anyone else to see this thang just sitting...but, as i remember, i was severley harrased by those pesky swordfish torp planes and that's what was sitting on her deck when i spotted her. i thot maybe she's trying to let the rest of those in the air land...but then i thot, no, it should be moving....

dunno, but i loved the catch...
