Default Bananas

As anyone else noticed that if your on a long patrol, that the Bananas vanish after week three and the meat vanishes after week four.

That happens upto 1943. After that date there are neither, but there then magicalyl appears an hamper marked Harrods under the Kapitans bunk.

Got to hand it to those designers. Its these little things I love about the game.

The game is full of these little details that make it so great! But why they didn`t do so that the crew`s beard would grow! Come on! Beard was like a symbol of WWII submarine crew!

It was interesting to read that U-boat commander Werner Henke required his men to keep clean-shaven!
It think this was the exception rather than the rule, though.

Roger the disappearing food.

A lot of people also don't realize that the night sky is also accurately modeled and DATE BASED just as the moon is.

... learn your constellations.... and the location of the north star!

Nice details with the foodstuffs! Haven't noticed this myself.

But I've noticed the accurate sky. When I'm on the bridge at night I almost always use the 'Karlsvogna' (directly translated 'Karl's wagon', don't know the English term) to find the North star, to calibrate the compass... :P

Hi!

"Karlsvogna" is known in English as the "Big Dipper" - a group of seven bright stars that are part of the constellation formally known as "Ursa Major" (the Great Bear).

wow! I heard about the night sky being accurately modeled, but I was not sure about it! I believe it now!
And I "never" noticed the disappearing food!

Man...I learn something new about this Sim every day!!

Thanks for the heads up!

I am pretty sure that my crew has gradually grown facial hair, but never noticed if it changes during a patrol of between patrols.

Notice also that your boat gets a distressed, rusty look to the paintjob the longer your patrol lasts.

This is new to me because I didn't know that we can se the food. My screen is very dark, even in maximum brightness,so I can't see much of the interior.
