Currently I'm just short of Port of Spain in October, 1942 with 18 torps still on board and things are getting a bit desperate as far as tonnage is concerned. Bagged only T3, C2 and a Small Tanker on the way here and those were sunk a looong way back. I've been prowling the convoy and single merchant lanes as judiciously as I can and now the fuel situation is getting a bit nasty. Is there anything out here? Something in the nearby ports, maybe, or should I head for Galveston and New Orleans? My policy is to sail back to base (i.e no warping) but unless something, anything, shows up this could turn out to be the most disappointing patrol so far.
Oh yeah: no RUb's, Harbour mods or IC. |

This is off the coast of South America right?
If so, I was there in May 1942 and sank 4 Coastal Merchants as they came out of the north entrance of the bay with the deck gun. I entered the bay from the north and sank the V&W Destroyer that was patrolling the entrance. Turns out that it was the only warship protecting the bay. Inside I found 2 T2's and 2 T3's, all of them stationary. Sank them all....not a bad patrol but a long way from home. ![]() They were all flying the American flag. |
