I firmly believe that the reason products have safety notices are because there is a history of people being dumb.
Submitted as evidence: I recently purchased an insulated lunch cooler. I was pleased to find out that it included a pair of chemical ice packs. Well, I can always use more ice packs and these were a nice large size. The packet was labeled High Performance Ice Wall with Deep Freeze performance gel in very large letters. So far, so good. ![]() Then I read the safety warning notices on the product. ![]() ![]() There are direct quotes from the product I received
I can only surmise that, at one time, someone took an ice pack and heated it by putting it in to a microwave. Call me traditional, but I tend to use ice packs to keep things... well.. not hot. I guess someone saw this large squishy pack and thought to themselves, "hey, I can drink this like a juice pack" Then, there was that person who after eating their picnic lunch still felt peckish and decided to cut open this ice pack and munch some more. So why, in 2025 do we not have flying cars?? Because there is a very good reason why we don't

My parents once bought a pack of AA-sized rechargable batteries, unbranded, some never-heard-off junk label, they were sweet because they were cheap. They came with a long leaflet of warnings, which is unusual for simple batteries sold in Germany. It listed many stupid things that one should not do with these: not cooking them in noodle water, not hammering them with a hammer - and not putting two of them into both ears simultaneously, because - quote on - this may result in damage to the brain - quote end.

I can think of a few people who really shouldn't consider purchasing those.

We have to travel back to 1994 where I was studying industrial electrician in an adult education
one day we had a visit from some guy from Husqvarna He showed us what they produced in Sweden and abroad. When he came to the chainsaws he showed us two instruction books. One of them a 30-page-something was for the Scandinavian countries. The other was a lot thicker, this one was meant for the American market He told us that they had do write down every possible things an owner could think of be doing with their chainsaw, such as trying to cut down a parkometer or cut down high voltage cable in the air or ground etc. Markus

You guys are acting like human stupidity is a new thing. It's not. History is replete with examples of it. What's new is stupid peoples ability to sue others for not adequately warning them of their stupidity.

Yes, this Superman costume does not enable the wearer to fly - that's common sense, unless you are an American, in that case you need a reminder...
And of course no court outside the US would ever even consider accepting a case of an idiot whining about their kid not being able to fly in said Superman costume. Only in America... |

But then I remember being confused back when I was in EOD and was reading a TO warning "do not eat or ingest high explosives"
Then we had an Airman in my unit eat high explosives.

Oh,damn they will die for clicks, I like it ,motorcycle wrecks,Wingsuits, high dives off of cliffs, driving down the autobahn as fast as you can go yea baby fast as they can go. Yes they are doing it for money and fame. And that's why we watch them until they kill themselves. It's not scripted tv or netflix. The only thing that urks me is they will not show their faces of death. Damn it you can see soldiers blown to bits by a drone. Why can't I see YouTubers mangled ass bodies ?
