TWOS 2.2.24 - Uboat number

I can't change my Uboat number anymore somehow.

I changed the number in the OptionsFileEditorViewer to U-204 and this is showing correctly in the ship's journal. After starting a new career the game assigned U-201 to me. So when I receive a message in the Captain's log this is adressed to U-201. Journal still shows U-204. As instructed in the OptionsFileEditorViewer I changed the number in the playersettings.cfg file to U-204. However when I play the game the number is automatically set back to U-201 in the playersettings.cfg file.

Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I have changed the number in the past various times without problems.
