I decided to try Living Silent Hunter III -2020. Glad I kept my old DVD version of SH3.
Thought I'd save the hassle and just download it from Ubisoft. My install key code was deemed invalid. I went to Steam, and the same thing... invalid code. So I thought for $2.50 I'd buy a new copy from UPlay. Nope. The product screen was going to send me to checkout for about a second then a second screen came up and said the product was no longer available. Steam wants $9.99 so instead, I grabbed my external CD/DVD usb drive (my year old computer case doesn't have a bay for any kind of drive other than internal HDD or SDD) and did the disk install. Once the game was on my SSD, I was able to install LSH3-2020 and DGui for 1920x1080 and all is right with the world! |

I really like having hard copies of all my games.
Ebay still has em, thats where I got SH3 and 4 but passed on SH5, I'd already gotten it from Uplay or Ubisooft. Even than first thing I do on any clean install is make a copy of the game folder and save it on my passport external drive. some games I wish they'd release on dvd DCS World IL 2 the new one. already have all the old Madox games. Uboat. I hate all this new steam everything. I know it's convenient for publishers and developers but my interweb access can be pretty crappy at times. |

Good going. I keep clean installs of SH3/4 on my WD passport drives/thumbnails that I can copy and paste at will if I ever need to reinstall the OS. |
