For some reason I cant replace an officer with the same class of officer on the crew management page.
Everytime I try it says I have too many officers. I would think if I dismiss one officer, I could grab a new officer from the list but its not working. What am I doing wrong? |

save your game while in port. relieve your current officer...creating an open billet. assign the new officer to the open billet. if that fails then you were over the limit for officers to begin with. yes, that does happen.

The default crew of subs as provided for in the game breaks the rules of the game in that the game counts CPOs as officers so any chiefs you have count towards the limit of officers as set in the NSS_sub UPC files. Edit the NSS_subclasshere.UPC file to increase officers to at least the total count of crew you have at rank 7 (CPO) and above. Or just start dumping JOs and Chiefs over the side until you get down below 6... ![]() |
