My newbie questions are being quickly answered and are no longer needed. Can they be deleted so they don't clutter the active posts?

I think new topic posts cannot be deleted by the author.
Individual replies can. .

Why bother? Leave them so they can answer other newbies that search for the same problem.

Both of the above answers are good ones. I will just add that old posts slide down the chain until long forgotten. They don't really clutter anything.
