game keeps crashing when i save

i try to save my game as normal during a mission and then it just crashes is there any fix for this?

What's the weather at the moment you save? Are you submerged or on the surface? Do you use any mods? Anything you can think of that would be common for all the times the game crashes other than you trying to save the game?

Reason for all these question is, SH3 is slightly less stable than Charles Manson on a bad hair day but over the years many workarounds have been found to make it more stable.

Also, which operating system? Windows 10 64 bit? Windows 7? XP 32 bit? Steam version of SH3 or not?

ive fixed it i think the problem was i that was that i was close to hostile ships but im not sure
