I would like to see a subsim massive online multiplayer platform that determines the outcome of a war. Most modern day sims are linear and mission based while WW2 is always the same abs the outcome never changes.

Maybe something like a new Cold War between US and China. But as an online ever changing world like world of Warcraft.

The events inspire a changing world and politics within the game.

The one that get made is a good one for sure . We can only hope a vote like this gives a hint to any developers out there what we would prefer .

Is that not what Silent Hunter Online was planned to be? I have not played it and it looks a bit dead right now but from what i read it is some form of shifting world.

I think the Great War 14-18 would be interesting, but as a game, I don't know. I don't know if it would be a bit low on action due to the limited technology of the time. But I am a big fan of the Great War, so I would buy it whatever.

I have always been interested in the u-boat of the second world war. The SH series is getting a bit dated now, and computer technology has come far the last few years. So a new Sub game is always welcome.

It would be great, if we had a second world war game, where you could chose your own nation. I know SH 4 did it to an extent, but the game had its limitations.

The highest-scoring submarine aces of all time were all from the Great War. They had a huge variety of experiences, from torpedoing the big ocean liners to attacking fishing fleets with the deck gun and scuttling charges. More than one U-boat captain sank 10 or more trawlers in one day using these methods. Lots of vessels sunk for very little tonnage.

Anti-submarine work was also interesting. Trawlers would lay nets to entangle the U-boat and force it to surface, where destroyers could use their guns. It was an interesting time.

The first thing I would like to see is a World War Two game done right. I have a very long list of things I would do if I had the resources to make a game. I would start with the U-boats, making sure there was a good multi-player system so my next game would be about the escorts. Then maybe the British and Dutch submarines. Then the Pacific war, then the Japanese subs (and destroyers). Next would come World War One, with the same options. After that, who knows?

I would love to see good online oriented naval game. I'm not talking about World of Warships (or whatever it is) type, but the whole atlantic where AI controlled convoys travel and it is up to the players to take their sides and either protect them or try to sink them.

Kinda like WWIIOL was/is, but naval version. Everything would count on the players, maybe add some small AI escorts etc., but mostly escort duty/interception would be done by players.

It wouldn't be a one "instance" type battles, but the whole Atlantic. Both sides would have high command (like in WWIIOL) who would decide which route the convoys would go and of course the German HQ would decide areas to patrol (these areas would be laaaarge, like 6x6 or 8x8 KM grids) where they expect the enemy convoys to be (but like in WWIIOL invidual players and squads could really go anywhere on the map). Players could form task forces (like tank columns in WWIIOL) to freely patrol the Atlantic etc. Heck, add in air patrols too!

Only problem, of course, would be the lack of players for such a large scale game and niche genre.

I really lag behind in the knowledge about the Great war. Need to read up about it and submarines .

How would such a game work. I WWII Online it makes sense to let anyone spawn in on the frontline. For a submarine game it would be strange with submarines spawning in. So would the player only take control of a submarine already out there?

I'm not sure.

Naturally, the Atlantic would be down-scaled like Europe is in WWIIOL. Not too much, though. Say, 15min trip to the center of the Atlantic from a French U-boat base.

Milkcows could serve as mobile spawns for the Germans. Something similar for Allies.

Not publically. My reason is not that I don't want people knowing what I think, but that it's quite long and boring.

WW II done right and a good multiplayer involving subs on one side and escorts on the other...

After the cold war - 1991-Present Day where surface and sub-surface could be played both singularly and in multiplayer mode.

Pacific submarine war SH4 in WWII is not that interesting.Atlantic campaign was done twice in SH3 and SH5.

So it's unrealistic to expect SH6 or alike. But nuclear sub game is non existent. Not counting Sub Command and 688i, or Dangerous waters. Not counting because they are auld ( scots term for ancient ).

Said nuclear sub games are realy good if you like hard core realism and have a **** load of time, but for most gamers, even those who consider themselfes hard core, it's a major dull ****.I mean you have to have some hollywood moments, drama and eye candy.Staring at 2d consoles just won't cut it.It has to be a game, can't be a real sim because 95 % of gamers will not by that.Though they will by something that will play like hunt for Red October.

I've voted for Cold War but generally the post WWII era would be interesting.I'd like to see a carrer mode for this period and not restricted missions and campaigns lasting for a few hours.
It's not attractive playing a campaign where you've to accomplish a mission in order to progress.
