Default Deck Log Template

During patrols, I love to do paperwork. It simply enhances immersion.

Inspired by M4XDmG's German "Kriegstagebuch" template I've created two templates for a typical U.S. submarine deck log.

My templates are based on the deck log photos of the U.S.S. Flier (SS-250), which are shown here, although I don't have the exact fonts used. But it's close enough.

One PDF is for handwriting, the other for typewriting. To use, download and print.

Entries are usually made every 4 hours, i.e. 0000-0400, 0400-0800, 0800-1200, 1200-1600, 1600-2000, 2000-0000. You can see it here very well. However, the U.S.S. Flier also has some pages where one entry is for a longer time, so I guess this was just a convention which could be changed when needed (or when there was no time for proper logging).

Thanks mate! I'd love to do paperwork also during my virtual patrols, and usually write a final report after each one, with sightings, events, attacks... only for fun. Are you using any other documents while on patrol?

Again, thank you

Not yet, actually. I'd like to plot my course on a chart, and I'd like to have some kind of crew manifest, but I'm not sure yet how that should look.

I made up a log sheet for contact tracking information. Printed out a stack of them and put them on a clipboard hanging on the wall next to the computer. Somewhere, I've got a binder with the used ones in it.
