Default Any news about a sequel?

There's nothing quite like Silent Hunter out there. Has Ubisoft totally abandoned the series after SHO?

Seriously Idk what is with this obsession with making everything online, I blame WoW, also I despise it.

Simulators are not so popular in comprasion to other video game genres. As a result, video game developers are now concentrated on other video game genres, because they will bring more profit. Sad but true.

This genre is over for the time being. There's always hope of a revival in the simulators fortunes but people like action games it seems.

Perhaps one day someone will make a crowd-funded version that could be everything we want.

The way Ubisoft jumped ship on this was pretty bad though - they could get away with it because of how niche the game is and the market is - if it was Assassin's Creed or something like that they'd have never lived down the PR disaster it would have been - which is why I don't really get why they wont at least release some of the code and tools needed to really mod the crap out of this game. I mean we still haven't (and wont it looks like) ever be able to get playable surface ships or a British campaign because its just not doable. Which is a great shame because there is a lot of untapped potential with SH5 I feel.

Ubisoft could not produce anything as good as TWOS.

Default Ubisoft is terrible.

In my opinion I don't think you would want another SH game for the simple fact that Ubisoft owns the rights to it. They would obviously publish it but would most certainly mess it up, they may have some great people in their development studios but the company is horrible. SH5 is only fun because of the modding community here.

The best hope for a new WW2 sub sim would probably come from some crowd funded project. The tools are there with Unreal Engine 4 and Unity 5 being free so all that is lacking is the will. I am about to graduate with a degree in game design and it would be an awesome project to work on, but it would require some talented and determined people to put something together.
